Data Logging-Temperature and Humidity

Reflection For Data Logger

On 15 Nov 2011, demonstrator was explained about data logger and we were asked to conduct an experiment using data logger. Data logger is a device to record data especially data of the experiment. It can record data for temperature, humidity, pulse rate, voltage, current and etc. Hence, we were asked to collect data for temperature and humidity. We were provided an apparatus and material such as data logger, plastic and temperature and humidity sensor. We were required to record temperature and humidity of hand covered with plastic or without plastic. Then, after recorded the data, the data logger connected to the computer and data were interpreted to the graph. It is cool! Because we does not need to plot a graph manually by using graph paper. This is one of advantages of data logger :)

If a long time ago scientists spent most of their time and need to wait in the laboratory in order to collect and record data but now with the presence of data logger, they can leave the laboratory and data logger will record the data of an experiment. Besides that, the data recorded are precise and accurate since no mistakes are made in reading the data. Data logger also record data in convenient and effective way which may be directly transferred to a computer. Furthermore, data logger is more flexible and are available with more than one input types. However, data logger also have disadvantages which is sensitive and lead to an inaccurate data record. Thus, we should handle this device carefully.
